Share the Journey: an evening of inspiration
The JCC is proud to be part of the international network of Jewish communities celebrating persons with disabilities throughout the month of February.
We invite the community to come together for a Special Film Screening and Reception
Tuesday February 6
6:30 pm
in the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre
Screening of the award-winning film “My Hero Brother” selected as the leading film for Jewish Disability and Inclusion Month.
« My Hero Brother » tells the remarkable story of a group of young people with Down syndrome that embark on a trek through the Indian Himalayas, accompanied by their brothers and sisters. As the siblings deal with formidable physical and emotional challenges, unresolved conflicts come to surface, and heart-warming friendships develop.
The difficult trails and poignant relationships, set against the richly colorful backdrop of India, open new horizons and deepen the viewer’s understanding of special needs people and their families. Watch trailer…
Following the screening, the JCC Inclusion department will share the highlights of our own Journey to Israel with a short slideshow and interactive photo presentation.
